Privacy, without the treasure hunt.
HuanWoQian starts locally without a login. If you share or join a trip, it creates a private anonymous service identity and uploads that shared trip so invited members can stay in sync. It does not sell personal information, run ads, track you across other companies’ apps, upload your whole address book, or read your Gmail inbox.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the HuanWoQian mobile app, website, and related account and notification services. “HuanWoQian,” “we,” and “us” refer to the publisher named in the applicable app-store listing.
Information we collect
- Local preferences: language, currency, notification, and display choices stored on your device.
- Shared-expense content: trip names and dates, participant display names, expenses, notes, currencies, split instructions, balances, settlements, and audit history.
- Selected contact information: the name and phone number of only the person you choose in the system contact picker. It stays local unless you explicitly share that trip, when it becomes part of the shared trip record.
- Optional receipt photos: a receipt stays on your device for a local trip and is uploaded to private storage when you attach it to a shared expense.
- Shared-trip identity: an anonymous user ID, profile name, memberships, invitation claims, device push token when enabled, and notification preferences.
- Basic service records: security, authentication, request, and error logs retained by our infrastructure providers as needed to operate and protect the service.
Google and Apple sign-in
Google and Apple sign-in are not shown in the current release. HuanWoQian requests no Gmail mailbox scopes and cannot read, search, change, or send messages in your Gmail account.
How we use information
We use information to calculate and explain balances, preserve accounting history, sync shared trips, deliver enabled reminders, prepare a WhatsApp reminder, and export your data. We do not process payments or collect bank-account or card details.
When information is shared
Supabase hosts authentication, shared ledgers, private receipt files, and related service logs. Expo and the operating-system push providers deliver notifications when enabled. A WhatsApp reminder includes the debtor name, trip, and amount only after you choose to open it; you review and send the message yourself. Frankfurter provides latest reference exchange rates. A rate request contains only source and target currency codes—not your identity, trip, participants, contact details, or expense amount. These providers process data under their own terms and our applicable service arrangements.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Shared trip data remains while the trip is active and may retain anonymized accounting entries needed by other members after an account is deleted. Service and exchange-rate providers may retain ordinary security or connection logs under their policies.
You can export your data, delete a local workspace, or delete a shared-trip identity in Profile → Account & data. You can also use our account deletion page if you no longer have the app.
Your controls
You can change notification, quiet-hour, language, currency, and reduced-motion preferences in the app. Operating-system settings can revoke contact or notification permission. You may contact us about a privacy concern, subject to applicable law.
Age eligibility and international use
HuanWoQian is designed for people aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. Information may be processed where our providers operate, with safeguards required by the provider agreements and applicable law.
